Our Privacy Policy

We at The Lynwood Group understand that our clients are concerned about the privacy of information collected on the Internet, including how it is collected and how it will be used. We respect your right to privacy.

By supplying us with your e-mail address and other contact information, you allow us to use this information to send you newsletters and other materials of interest.

We do not share your name or other contact information with any other organizations for any purposes. Nor do we purchase lists from so-called "list-brokers" to solicit clients or job applicants.

The following frequently asked questions (FAQ) provide details about how and why The Lynwood Group collects client information, what we do with this information, and how you can control access to and distribution of the information that you provide to our organization.

1. Why does The Lynwood Group collect client information?
We like to know who our clients are so we can serve them better. One of the ways we ensure we are developing interesting and beneficial services for our clients is to gather information directly from you. Through market research projects, client feedback and on-line registration, we are able to fine-tune what services we can offer to you.

2. What do you do with the information you collect?
We collect only enough information to enable us to perform a specific task. For example, if you purchase books or other products through third-party links on our Web site, it is likely information will be requested by a third-party company (see #5 and #6 below).

3. Will The Lynwood Group provide my information to third-parties?
No. Unlike other online companies that often make money from selling your name, demographic profile and other personal information, The Lynwood Group does not share any personal information with third party companies. As a registered Lynwood Group client, you may receive news and special announcements from us. Your name is never given out to third party companies, either individually or in aggregate.

4. How can I correct or update my personal information?
For updates or changes in your contact information, please e-mail or telephone us (for details, see #7 below).

5. If I buy merchandise from your site how do I ensure that my credit card information is secure?
When you purchase books and other merchandise from a third-party site affiliated with The Lynwood Group, your browser will indicate you have entered a secured state and your personal information and credit card information are protected from prying eyes.

This secured state is indicated by a change in the displayed URL (i.e., the Web address) from "http://www.chapters.ca" to as "https://www.chapters.ca" as an example. The extra "s" in the URL indicates that your Web browser has automatically engaged a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and is now secure. This high-level security technology is built into your particular browser and ensures your buying experience is as safe as possible.

6. Is The Lynwood Group responsible for other sites I link to from this site?
No. The Lynwood Group may offer links to the sites of our co-branding partners as well as other Web sites with whom we are not affiliated. When using some of our on-line services, you could be directed to these other co-branded sites.

Some of these links are the sites of partners with whom The Lynwood Group have joined to provide services to you. The Lynwood Group is not responsible for the privacy policies or other terms of use of these partner sites or other sites you may link to while using The Lynwood Group site. This includes links from their respective advertisers. These other sites may send their own cookies to you, collect data, or solicit personal information. Due to privacy concerns, we do not use cookies at The Lynwood Group.
